CREDITS
My producers:
Katie Cadigan (my sister) — Katie is a documentary filmmaker and runs a production company called imageReal Pictures, www.imagereal.com, near San Francisco. She taught me how to film myself and had pretty high standards because she used to teach film/video production courses at Stanford University. Katie and I basically collaborated on the film—it was almost as if we had an umbilical cord between us. Katie got her master's degree from Stanford's Documentary Film Program. Before that she spent ten years doing marketing and public relations for high-tech companies like Apple and HP. She’s busy making a new documentary, called Wacko, about how cultural images of madness have nothing to do with the reality of living with mental illness.
Ira Wohl — Ira is a powerhouse and has a film company called Only Child Motion Pictures. He won an Oscar® for Best Boy, a documentary he made about his mentally retarded cousin Philly. Ira joined our team right after he finished Best Man, a 20–years–later sequel about Philly. Ira got his master’s degree in social work from University of Southern California, and he has a private practice at UCLA’s Neuropsychiatric Hospital and Institute. He worked closely with Katie and Laura during editing, and now runs our fundraising, marketing and distribution. You can rent or purchase any of Ira’s earlier films by contacting him at bestboy@earthlink.net.
My editor:
Laura Murray — Laura is one of the nicest people in the world to work with. She was Katie’s course assistant one semester at Stanford. Laura won a Student Academy Award for her Stanford master’s degree film, Slender Existence, about recovering from anorexia. Laura worked for Katie at imageReal Pictures for a while and later managed post-production at Stanford's media group. We were lucky to get her back to edit our film. Laura just moved to Los Angeles where she's already edited a television series pilot. She has a Final Cut Pro system and is now editing a documentary about gay porn stars trying to get out of the business. If you need a great editor, email her at laura.murray@stanfordalumni.org.
Our music:
Evelyn Glennie — Evelyn is an incredible percussionist. I love the evocative, ethereal and sometimes mysterious quality of her work—especially her performances with the marimba. She has won countless awards all over the world. You can learn all about her on her website: www.evelyn.co.uk/.
